Outliers is a Venture Capital fund that backs Outlier founders in MENA and the US. Our team, based in Dubai, Riyadh and Cairo values curiosity, autonomy, and collaboration and is looking for a Community and Platform intern to join us for 6 months starting October. This is an interdisciplinary position that encompasses community support, communications, event organizing, and operational tasks. We are looking for an ambitious individual, passionate about bringing people together, and ready to support the next wave of outlier founders. The internship is remote with a strong preference for candidates based in Riyadh.

You will be supporting the platform team with tracking the needs of our portfolio, building out resources that our founders will access to collaborate, and project-managing new initiatives. You'll leverage Outliers's network of founders, investors, experts, and ecosystem players to engineer opportunities for cross-pollination and collaboration. You'll get venture capital exposure by observing our portfolio companies and learning what resources they need and how they can access them.

What you will do on a daily basis

• Event management for our community events taking place in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt
• Support our amazing community members, providing them with any support and resources they need
• Support the platform team where needed in managing day-to-day activities and maintaining a dynamic platform

What you will do over several months

• Help develop and support community engagement strategies and initiatives and track their progress
• Help organize online and in-person events

You are probably a good fit if

• You are currently enrolled as a top-tier university student or just recently graduated
• You have a foundational knowledge of community building and experience leading community initiatives and events
• You have demonstrated interest in technology and the startups ecosystem
• You’re a proactive self-starter, master multitasker, and able to organize your own work and carry it out unsupervised
• You are fluent in English, and Arabic is a plus
• You are a strong communicator with fantastic interpersonal skills
• You love connecting people, building relationships, and helping others when the opportunity arises
